Many people assume that any small brush will handle a paint by number canvas with grace. They soon find that cheap bristles splay after ten minutes, leaving them with fuzzy edges that ruin the overall effect.
Choosing the Best Paint Brushes for Paint by Number requires a focus on tip retention and handle comfort. A quality set acts like a surgical tool, giving you the precision needed to fill those tiny, numbered spaces. Here is how to pick the right set for your next session.
Key Takeaways
- Prioritize brushes with synthetic bristles because they maintain their shape far better than natural hair when used with acrylic paints.
- Look for triangular handles to prevent your brushes from rolling off the table and to provide a more secure grip during long painting sessions.
- Select a set that offers a wide variety of sizes, specifically including 000, 00, and 0 tips for those frustratingly small areas.
- Check the description for double crimped ferrules, which keep the metal part firmly attached to the wooden handle to prevent shedding.
- Opt for sets that provide at least ten pieces, as rotating through multiple brushes keeps your work clean and minimizes paint buildup.
